Minutes of the regular meeting of the Burlington County Emergency Services Advisory Board, October 1, 2009.

 

The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Lowden at 7:00 P.M.

Minutes of the August 6, 2009 minute were approved with corrections. (So made)

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

Fire Science Mr. Anderson reports that an Emergency Medical Services degree is under discussion. They are considering an EMS representative to the Advisory

Committee. Discussion on EMS represented on the Committee.

Hes seeing a lot of interest in the Fire Science degree.

 

TRAINING GROUNDS

 

Mr. Gsell was not present, but had emailed his report prior to the meeting.

 

RADIO /PUBLIC SAFETY

 

Mr. Dreby was not present but emailed his report prior to the meeting.

A brief review took place on digital radio/paging. Mr. Lowden noted a large lead time would be needed for budgeting and purchase of new equipment. The Board went over with Mr. Mosca, parameters for elimination of the red phone system; including trade offs with the digital/paging system for Fire and EMS.

 

COUNTY COMPUTER SYSTEM

 

Mr. Pagurek reviewed EMS reporting. New World/EMS Charts interface was working, until the last New World update. He added that Gloucester County had New World write a new interface for their system.  Mr. Pagurek suggested we research this interface and see if it can be adapted to our system(s). Possibly County I.T. research to prevent future downfalls in the EMS reporting of their calls and charts.

 

Mr. Mosca stated he would talk to Mr. Nicholas Behmke and review the situation.

 

It was noted that Burlington County is one upgrade on New World and behind Gloucester. Mr. Mosca will contact Gloucester.

 

Pictometry start/set up will occur soon. Mr. Lowden suggested that the Fire/EMS community have stake holders in the set up

 

 

OLD BUSINESS

NEW BUSINESS

 

It was noted that Mr. Collins had recent foot surgery and was unable to attend some meetings.

 

GOOD OF THE ORDER

 

The 200 Club Thrill Show will take place on 10/17/09 at the Camden waterfront. Burlington County will have equipment there. Mr. Lowden is to be contacted for information.

 

The Boys Scouts will have a Jamboree at BCIT-Westampton on October 9-11, 2009.

 

Mt Laurel EMS has received a mass casualty trailer from the state. It will be housed at Station 369. This is one of 21 throughout the state.

 

Fire Coordinator Joseph Lehmann was recently elected Second Vice-President of the N.J. State Fire Chiefs Association.

 

Seeing no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 7:35 P.M.

 

The next meeting of the Emergency Services Advisory Board will be December 3, 2009, beginning at 7:00 P.M. in the Freeholder Board Room.
